We want to thank all our loyal guests, friends and followers for supporting us all these years – it’s been great, thank you.

Our website & socials remain open as a source of information and photos for visitors to Vera to continue to enjoy.

'The Naturist Paradise'

Vera Playa, where the desert meets the sea, is situated on the edge of Europe’s only desert making it the warmest & driest part of Europe and a destination of choice for naturists from all over the world.

The Vera Playa beaches - also known as the ‘Playazo’ which means ‘massive beach’ in Spanish - stretch the whole sweep of the bay. Of this, two whole gorgeous sandy kilometres are officially designated as naturist.

In the early days, only the naturist hotel and campsite existed along the ‘Playazo.’ It was wild and natural, but as this special corner of Mediterranean paradise was discovered, development took place but to strict guidelines, all low rise – no ugly towering blocks – the only thing soaring above you is the spectacular mountain backdrop.

In the early days, only the naturist hotel and campsite existed along the ‘Playazo.’ It was wild and natural, but as this special corner of Mediterranean paradise was discovered, development took place but to strict guidelines, all low rise – no ugly towering blocks – the only thing soaring above you is the stunning mountain backdrop.
As a result, to this day, the whole ‘Playazo’ retains a real feel of the wild and natural beach it has always been.

Fronting the designated naturist section of the Playazo, is the unique Vera Playa Naturist Zone (Zona Naturista).

The Naturist Zone is made up of fifteen fully naturist ‘urbanisations’ with their own gardens, swimming pools and facilities.

The 'urbanisations' are connected by beautifully kept public streets where you can walk naked and free,
meandering through the zone and down to the beach.

There are naturist bars and cafes on the street, and the beach itself has a bountiful selection of naturist beach bars (known as ‘chiringuitos’) and restaurants.

In front of the hotel is the local ‘strip’ where there are more bars, restaurants and nightclubs.

You can walk around the entire naturist zone in about 15 minutes.  So, with all facilities within walking distance, there is no real need to hire a car.

Just a moment’s walk outside the Naturist Zone, you will find a large supermarket and a small shopping plaza with some stylish boutiques, a bakery, food outlets, Chinese bazaar, an ATM and tapas bars.

Further along the seafront promenade once you’ve left the designated naturist section, is a selection of fine beach-side eateries and upmarket beach clubs.

looking north the busy beach with lots of people sunbathing on a beautiful day
Also within walking distance are bus stops that connect you to the neighbouring resorts of Garrucha, Mojácar Playa and beyond.

This is a truly magical part of the naturist world, where you can enjoy magnificent sunrises in the east over the Mediterranean Sea and stunning sunsets in the west over the reed marshes accompanied by the sound of bird song.

During the mild autumn and winter months, rarely does the mercury dip below 18°C making this a most pleasurable destination for naturism and outdoor sports and activities.

Come and see for yourself why this unique resort has a special place in so many naturists’ hearts.
